The Culprit

I've acquired a new habit. That is, checking calorie content on food packagings. For someone who never bothered about calories, fats, and the likes, it's a mind opener to discover that there's actually useful information on our standard food packagings.

The shocker happened at the grocery shop yesterday. While perusing rows upon rows of my favourite beverage (coffee, if you haven't already known), I found my usual 3-in-1 purchase and took a close look at the calorie information. My eyes almost jumped out of their sockets when I saw that a sachet of the said 3-in-1 contains about 350 kcals! My oh my, that's about a quarter of my daily calorie requirement!

In a way, I'm happy that the 3-in-1 boasts such a huge calorie count. I have now singled out one of main reasons for my bulging thighs. The right thing to do is to eliminate the offending item out of my shopping list right away. Since I'm not ready to forgo coffee altogether, I'm opting for alternatives that do not take up such a huge portion of my daily calorie need. I noticed that Indocafe has only 10kcals per serving. Even after adding 1 tsp each of sugar and creamer, I'm pretty sure the total calorie won't reach anywhere near 350 kcal.

As the saying goes, knowledge is power. Now I know that for sure.

Same as me, dulu tak pernah nak baca info calorie counting pun. Dahla minat milo, tau2 1 cup is 330 kcal. Hmm

hiks..last 3 wk baru jer menghabiskan 3 in 1 nescafe cappucino, x check2 pon kalori, fuh!! byknyer!! Sib baik x der on stock semlm, baru jer gi ngintai2 rak coffee last nite. Ida guna seketul raw brown sugar to reduce sugar intake in my diet..n ehem, ehem, Ida beli Jamu tea Mustika Ratu utk kempiskan perut sbb sebenarnya terkejut ada dijual di rak2 diet disini, terus 'ter'beli.. hiii. Abg Amran x galakkan Ida makan pil2/jamu2 utk kuruskan badan w/pon ada 'kegeraman' utk beli masa di mesia dulu sbb malas nak exer..heheh. Jamu tu senyap2 jer campak dlm trolley...hiii. The taste.. WEK!! Kena minum 3x sehari after meal for 3 months!! BLUEKKK!!!

Aida: I guess the major culprit is the condensed milk? Kalau minum milo o tak la tinggi sgt calorie nya kot??

UA: Way to go, girl. Berapa calorie Aini consume in a day?

Nida: Yg maksu cerita kat atas tu bukan Nescafe, tapi brand yg Rosham Nor jadi duta tu :) Rasanya Nescafe is not as bad (jgn Ida pergi terkam pula kat rak supermarket tu!). nanti Ida share with us ya tentang keberkesanan Mustika Ratu.

Kat rumah ni yg selalu beli mcm2 3-in-1 tu budak2..kami tak beli..selalunya dpt sbb ada org/pengusaha bagi masa AWe masih bertugas dulu..tp kalu gi sarapan kat kedai @pun masa travel..kita org suka juga order benda2 3-in-1 ni..tp selalunya kopi CNI, HPA dan mcm2lah produk utk energy/kecergasan..Power Root pun pernah minum..

Tp slps satu masa tu..AWe pernah jumpa pakar sakit tuan..dan dia beri info..produk2 ni bknlah semestinya spt yg ddakwa..kdg2 mrk hy menggunakan bhg btg/kulit pokok instead of akar tu sendiri yg mana khasiat/faedahnya tidaklah seberapa dan kdg2 blh memudaratkan pula..jadi slps itu kami takdela lagi mesti order benda2 tu dan stick kpd 1-2 jenama yg lbh blh dpercayai sj..

boleh percaya ke nombor tu...ada perbezaan besar di antara 10 dan 350.
